У моїх роботах перетинаються різні символи та мотиви, які повторюються, змішуються та трансформуються, виявляючи делікатно інтерпретовані міфи та нічні кошмари. У них присутній квітковий та рослинний мотив, який зазвичай представляє мир, ріст та життя, але водночас одержимість в’ялими квітами як зв’язуюча ланка зі смертю та тугою; каракулі олівцем на полотні як відсилання до дитинства; та інші елементи, які є об’єктами та формами, запам’ятаними під час різних ситуацій, снів, думок, які часто з’являються несвідомо. Всі ці символи взаємодіють та трансформуються на полотні, папері; між живописом та скульптурою і часто в утилітарних об’єктах.

«Електрика і привиди» — результат мого постійного пошуку надприродного в повсякденному житті та вивчення привидології, термін, введений Жаком Дерріда для позначення парадоксального стану привида, який ні існує, ні не існує, а також міфів про привидів у Японії. За логікою привидології минуле завжди присутнє в теперішньому, але не в своїй первісній формі, а у вигляді сліду. Згідно з Марком Фішером, це також — «тоска за минулим, яке ніколи не наступило» і думки «про втрачені можливі варіанти майбутнього». У наш час світ привидів — це інтернет-час, який витісняє наш реальний час. Тут привидами стануть гості — музиканти Арам Аббас і Бйорн Айхгорн, які візьмуть участь у виставці віртуально.

Марія Сільченко (Україна, 1993 р.) живе та працює в Парижі, Франція. Навчалася в Токійському університеті мистецтв і Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, де наразі завершує магістратуру, була в резиденціях Komplot Brussels і Creare у місті Атамі, Японія. Виставлялася в галереї 4649 (Токіо), на Одеському Бієнале, у галереї Lily Robet (Париж).

My works are crossed by patterns that repeat, mix and transform; myths and nightmares climb into a world of dreams and are tamed by sensitive interpretation.
The floral or plant motif which represents growth and life; But at the same time an obsession with wilted flowers as a link to death and melancholy, the scribbling with a pencil on the canvas as a reference to childhood and the symbolic elements, which are objects and forms memorised during a situation, dream or feeling that marked me.
All these symbols interact and transform together on canvas, on paper and in sculpture. More and more interested in the relationship of painting and sculpture, I wanted to liberate my paintings from the frames and get them out of the wall.

«Electricity and Ghosts» is the result of my constant search for the supernatural in everyday life and the study of Hauntology, a term introduced by Jacques Derrida to denote the paradoxical state of a ghost that neither exists nor does not exist, as well as the myths of ghosts in Japan. According to the logic of Hauntology, the past is always present in the present time, not in its original form, but in the form of a trace. According to Mark Fischer, it is also “longing for a past that never came” and thoughts of “lost futures.” In our time, the world of ghosts is the Internet time, which supplants our real time. Here guests will become ghosts -musicians Aram Abbas and Bjorn Eichhorn will take part in the exhibition virtually.

Maria Silchenko (Ukraine, 1993) lives and works in Paris, France. Her paintings and sculptures are crossed by patterns that repeat, mix and transform, elucidating myths and nightmares tamed by sensitive interpretation. Silchenko has studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, where she is currently completing her MFA. She has been in residency at Komplot Brussels and in Atami, Japan and exhibited at 4649 (Tokyo), Biennale d’Art d’Odessa (Odessa), Lily Robert (Paris).
